If you have a lot of credit card debt, it can sometimes feel endless and overwhelming. However, you do have some tricks up your sleeve that you might not even know are there.
Here’s one: every six months or so, you can call your credit card company and ask them for a “reprieve.”
When asked nicely, this phrase can sometimes get you what’s called a “forbearance.” This can mean a number of things:
- You might not have to make a payment for a few months.
- They might adjust the interest rate.
- They might lower the minimum payment.
Credit card companies won’t help you simply out of the goodness of their magnanimous hearts. Au contraire. They just want to make sure you remain a customer.
